Former Sources
There are cameras circulating around in the stock of many major
toy and department stores, to which Long Hall distributed. Places I recommend
trying:
- K-Mart. This is where I found my first (06.19.2000) and second (04.16.2001) thanks
to a USENET tip from Hassel Weems. I'd be really surprised if you found one there in 2010!
- Wal-Mart. I've heard that they have carried them as well in the
past; same idea as KMart, good luck finding one there.
- Toy Stores. I didn't have much luck at
Toys-R-Us, Kaybee, or FAO Schwartz. They just don't seem to be as aware
of this camera.
- QVC.com had
Photoblasters from approximately Fall 2000 - July 26, 2001. They had them for $24.97 (down $5 from
2000) plus $4.97 shipping. The item number was E57424. (As of
October 2007, the old link references do not work)
- "Seedeals.com" had
listed the following around 2001: Billed
as the N6800 Nickelodeon PhotoBlaster, price is $23.95 + $8.95 for UPS
Ground Residential shipping (they have different shipping rates, including
next-day air). This source is confirmed as of 05-11-2001. (Ed. Note:
Supply was estimated to have run out around July-August 2001, and as
of October 2007, the site is no longer active).
- Drugstore.com carried the 'Blaster during the late part of 2001 (confirmed).
- Etoys carried the camera before they went out of business. Actually, they
were sold out of it long before they went belly-up.
